I want to whole-heartedly recommend this video to anyone seriously considering church planting in the United States or another western nation.  It’s a 9 minute You Tube video by Marc Driscoll, one of the most honest preachers I know on the planet.  He has a very modern view of church planting, as opposed to something trying to be more first century which is what I typically like.  But his message is just too true.  Enjoy. So, I don’t often post prayer requests on the blog just because I like to give people a chance to minister to each other face to face and email seems really impersonal.  Regardless, a few more people see this than I see on a weekly basis, so I thought I would post this here for their benefit. 

Some of you know, some of you don’t, but over the years the Lord has given me a small grace to enter into fasting and prayer on a somewhat regular basis.  Within the last month or so, though, I have been physically exhausted and took a break from fasting because it was wearing my body out to the point of exhaustion and sickness.  Well, this week I decided to climb back on the horse, but couldn’t fast for even just a little while because it made me sick again.

So pray for me.  I need the grace of fasting in my life.  I know Jesus isn’t displeased or anything, but I know I go farther in my spiritual journey when I’m joining fasting with prayer.
