My name is Travis Kolder. I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where my life splits three ways: house churches, small tools I build, and content that helps business owners and investors make sense of the numbers.
For the last two decades I’ve helped lead a network of house churches in Cedar Rapids — simple, relational communities of faith that don’t need a building or a budget to be the church. In 2021 I wrote “Stick Your Neck Out,” a short, practical guide for anyone who’s wanted to start one but was waiting for someone else to go first. I still write here about Jesus and the church, discipleship, and what it looks like to build something that lasts.
I’m also a builder. When I run into a problem worth solving, I tend to just build the tool — VoicePost turns a voice memo into a post that sounds like you, Revenue Roadmap turns a business idea into a real financial projection, and a desktop flipbook teaches kids character through George Washington’s own Rules of Civility. You can see all of it on the Projects page.
Alongside all of that, I create content for lenders, business owners, and investors — turning economic and business news into ideas people can actually use.
