Basic Introductions-Index
In an ongoing effort to provide a jumping-on point for new readers, I’ve written a series of posts entitled “Basic Introductions.” Each post gives my definition of a seldom explored realm of Christianity so that readers who are unfamiliar with some of the terms and concepts discussed here will have a quick reference point available to them. The following is the list of "Basic Introduction” posts here at Pursuing Glory.
Basic Introductions: The Bridal Paradigm
Ever heard people talk about Jesus as a Groom or the Church as His bride? Ever wonder why people are so excited about the love of God? This is the post for you.
Basic Introductions: The Song of Solomon
If you’ve ever heard people talk about Jesus and the Song of Solomon in the same sentence and not understood where they get Jesus in that book, this post is a great place to start.
Basic Introductions: Characters and Plot in the Song of Solomon
Once you understand the Song of Solomon a little better, you may want to dig a little deeper. This is the post you want to check out next.
Basic Introductions: The End Times
If you’ve always thought that we really don’t need to know much about the End Times because we won’t be here during most of the scary stuff, you should probably read this post.
Food For Thought: Summer’s Ending Edition
Every week here at Pursuing Glory I try to bring together the best posts I’ve found that will equip the end-times church to operate in her God-ordained destiny. These are the best blogs, articles, books and other resources related to our purpose here at this site. Feel free to visit, comment, and make use of the resources found at each site.
It’s painfully obvious that summer is almost over. Now we await the cold of Fall and Winter. The plus side is my office will become more usable and that may mean more time for blogging. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and let you know if that ever materializes.
Time for America to Turn Back to God
I was encouraged by this call to repentance from Bob Roberts Jr. It lacked the typical “time to take back America from the Godless” rhetoric, but still called America back to God in practical, essential ways.
God calls us to set up monuments to His work in our lives. In this post, Josh recounts the moments God has directed him in supernatural ways to work and live among the poor of the Earth.
One of the things that I’ve been hearing from the Lord is that our inability to work as a team is a hindrance to creating disciple making movements. Guy’s post is an excellent primer on what makes teams work.
It’s Not About Church Planting
I’m encouraged by the fact that more and more people are gaining this perspective. Church planting is fruitless unless it is the result of new converts coming to Jesus.

The Salvation Army – Lessons for Us
Lex Loizides, uber Christian historian from the New Frontiers tribe, made his conference session on the history of the Salvation Army available for download. The Salvation Army has an amazing history that should provoke us all to live a missional lifestyle and Lex’s retelling of their story is a great way to “touch the bones” of this movement.

An Update, Some Changes, And More
Things finally seem like they’re returning back to normal a little bit after my trip to Africa. I’m finally finishing those all-important follow-ups that need to take place after every trip. I’ll post my summary of the trip in this space some time soon, after I get the hard copies mailed out to those who prayed and financed our trip. Thanks for your patience as I’ve processed this trip and adjusted to being back here in the States.
After I get some of the Africa posts up, my hope is to continue to develop material here that will serve the church as it continues to progress into an apostolic family preparing for the end of the age. The Lord spoke to me about several aspects key to this process while I was in Africa and I hope to share some of those insights when time permits.
One of the new things that you’ll begin to see here is the integration of this blog with Google+. I’ve been impressed with the way Google built Google+ for sharing and privacy simultaneously and my hope is that I can use it to add a layer of interactivity to the blog. Some of the content that I’ve been writing that really isn’t about Jesus, the Kingdom, the apostolic church, etc will find it’s way to my public wall on Google+. If you want to see what else I’m writing about, you can simply by clicking here.
But what I’m most excited about is Google+’s “Hangouts,” which are really large group video chats. My goal is to eventually have a time once a month in a “Hangout” where those of us who are following the Lord in the ways described here can join a “Hangout” and have face to face conversations. Google+ has some significant advantages over Twitter and Facebook and I think it might be worth your time to check it out. If you need an invite to Google+, email me at PursuingGlory@gmail.com and I will send you an invite. (By the way, if you add me to one of your circles in Google+, make sure you let me know you’re from the blog, so that I can add you to the right circle.)
Well, that’s enough updates for now. We’ll take a stab at these changes, see how they work, and make some more from there.
