Taking A Break

Be Back Soon

Following Jesus is unpredictable sometimes.  The disciples finally think they have Jesus figured out when they enter into Jerusalem and all of the sudden Jesus takes a hard left. The next thing you know He’s flipping over the tables of the money-changers and making whips to chase the guys away.  Jesus sometimes mixes things up in a way we don’t understand and can’t anticipate.

Today as I was spending time with Jesus, a thought crossed my mind. The thought was this–spend the next 31 days off of social media…Twitter, Facebook, etc.  I’m not sure it was Jesus, but if felt enough like Jesus speaking that I need to obey it.  And to be clear, I don’t know why Jesus is asking for this or what it will mean for me.  But, I’m hungry enough to want to obey, even if this is me hearing Jesus incorrectly.

And, don’t worry, I won’t be going away completely. I’ll probably still post on the blog once or twice in December and I’m planning on beginning podcasting regularly, but we’ll see where that goes.  If you need to get ahold of me and you have my email or phone number, feel free. I’m not dead, just not on social media.  That said, I hope your Christmas and New Year’s are great. I’ll see you in 2015.
